Shannon has been interested in metalwork and woodwork since he was a young boy. A talented craftsman, he was one of the first participants to join the Nailed It program and can be found in Carpentaria’s workshop most days of the week.
He enjoys crafting chopping boards and carefully selects wood pieces based on colour and interesting markings. His attention to detail ensures that each piece is a beautiful and bespoke creation. In 2023 he won 2nd place at the Darwin Royal Show for a set of 3 chopping boards, and he took out 1st place with a pencil holder in the 2024 event. He is currently working on an intricate wooden light shade which promises to attract a lot of attention.
After trialing a market stall and seeing the positive interest in his creations, Shannon is currently building a website to sell his products online, supported by the dedicated Pathways Program Media team.
