Bob* had been homeless and living rough for more than 5 years prior to the event that resulted in his long hospital admission. When he arrived in the Ready for Home program, he was unhappy, withdrawn and uncomfortable.
Carpentaria’s team submitted a comprehensive application for Assistive Technology and accommodation supports, as well as access to psychosocial support.
The application was successful and the difference in Bob’s quality of life was immediately obvious. He was able to reconnect with his estranged family and has started planning a trip to his hometown for the first time in over 40 years.
