Tom* had not had the opportunity to see his family in Adelaide for an extended period of time. He expressed his desire to reconnect and to spend a long weekend with them.
Tom’s support team saw how important this visit was for Tom’s wellbeing and committed to putting the necessary plans in place to facilitate a successful journey. They advocated to ensure the appropriate funds were available, liaised with the airline to ensure his wheelchair could be safely transported, and facilitated supplies of medication and PEG feed nutrition. They also worked alongside Tom to prepare a packing list and detailed activity plan so Tom felt well organised ahead of his travel date.
Tom thoroughly enjoyed his time in Adelaide and is already planning a return trip, this time for a week.
