Frequently asked questions

Why is the Pathways Program different from other Day Programs?

The Pathways Program is a tailored and individualised approach to Day Programs, based on identifying specific goals and interests.

Community and centre-based activities vary due to season and demand. Our core activities – Media, Visual Arts, Nailed It woodworking, and Learn to Cook – are designed to promote lifelong learning.

Our activities are informed by the eight NDIS Outcome Domains (Daily Living, Home, Health and Wellbeing, Lifelong Learning, Work, Social and Community Participation, Relationships, Choice and Control).

What does a typical week at the Pathways Program look like?

Each participant has an individualised and tailored program, specific to their goals and interests. It won’t be exactly the same as someone else’s program, but focused on activities that meet outcomes as identified by participants and their family/guardian, allowing for optimal choice and control.

How do I know which activities to choose?

We are happy to discuss the options that best meet identified outcomes and welcome the opportunity to tailor a program to meet your needs.

How often can I attend?

We aim to schedule your Pathways Program activities to fit into your existing weekly schedule. Some participants attend the program for half a day per week, while others come for 2-3 days per week. We work with you to develop an individual outcomes-based plan that supports you to reach your goals.

Can Carpentaria work with my existing stakeholders and therapy support providers?

We are more than happy to work with your existing supports to deliver a program that meets your specific requirements.

Can I use NDIS funding for the Pathways Program?

Pathways Program activities can be funded by NDIS plans, under:

  • Core – Social and Community Participation

Where is the Pathways Program based?

Our centre based activities are delivered in custom built facilities at Harry’s Place, 1 Willeroo Street, Tiwi. Community based activities are held throughout Darwin and Palmerston and we are proud to partner with a range of organisations and businesses to support individual pathways.

Do you offer transport options to and from the program?

The Pathways Program has a fleet of buses to transport participants from their home to the program location. Please talk to us about your requirements.

How can I get involved in the Cafe training program?
