Carpentaria recently held a Special General Meeting to enable members to vote on a change to governance structure, from an Incorporated Association to a Company Limited by Guarantee.
Carpentaria is pleased to advise that:
- The Australian Security and Investment Commission (ASIC) has approved Carpentaria’s application for Company Limited by Guarantee; and
- The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has approved Carpentaria’s ongoing charitable status; and
- Carpentaria’s legal name is now Carpentaria Disability Services Limited.
The change in governance structure means that Carpentaria is governed by ASIC under the overarching authority of the ACNC. This is an important milestone for Carpentaria as it allows us to focus on future growth and strengthened services for participants.
Carpentaria participants, families and friends can be assured that this change will not have an impact on ongoing high level of service provision.
