We are proud to be delivering services in Central Australia and have established a permanent office in Alice Springs.

Filling the gaps

After flying in and out of Alice Springs for 3 years, Carpentaria established a permanent presence in Alice Springs in early 2023. Allied Health services for Alice Springs participants can now be provided from Carpentaria’s permanent Alice Springs office. This space will support our growing team as we expand our services across Central Australia.

What we do now

Carpentaria currently provides Therapy Services to the Alice Springs community, through sessions delivered at our Alice Springs office, at home, school, or in the community. We are excited to be growing our services to meet demand and encourage referrals in all areas.

Meet the team

The Alice Springs office is home to several members of Carpentaria’s Therapy Services team. Other allied health professionals based in Darwin fly-in on a regular basis. The team are supported by office staff in our Darwin hub.

Nyawal Deng

Allied Health Assistant

Nyawal Deng holds a Certificate IV in Allied Health (Physiotherapy) and is passionate about supporting people with techniques to make their lives easier. She believes that a good quality of life is a necessity for everyone in our community.

Nyawal is based in our Alice Springs office. 

Megan Schuitemaker

Occupational Therapist

Megan Schuitemaker is an Occupational Therapist with over 18 years of clinical experience working with adults in community, acute and rehabilitation settings, in addition to working with children and adolescents. She has additional experience working with adults and children with low vision and is a qualified wellness coach.

Megan enjoys working with people to maximise their participation in everyday activities and to live their best lives. 

Note: Megan is based in Darwin. She visits Alice Springs on a regular basis as part of our remote services team. 

Rachel Tulla

Speech Pathologist

Rachel Tulla has 4 years of experience working with children and their families, and previously worked at a paediatric clinic in Mount Barker in South Australia. She is experienced in AAC, early intervention, language, speech, social skills and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and has completed courses in Keyword Sign and LAMP. She is Hanen More than Words certified and is passionate about supporting children and their families through a person-centred approach to reach their goals.

Note: Rachel is based in Darwin. She visits Alice Springs on a regular basis as part of our remote services team. 

As we increase our services to meet demand, exiting opportunities exist to join Carpentaria’s Alice Springs team. Allied health professionals, Coordinators of Support, and other experienced practitioners are encouraged to apply.
