The establishment of a small vegetable and flower garden at one of Carpentaria’s Supported Independent Living houses has been welcomed by all house residents who now enjoy sitting outside for morning and afternoon tea and observing the different flowers and vegetables growing.

One client had expressed an interest in gardening and staff have supported him to learn more about seeds, fertiliser, harvest time and herbs that grow well in the tropics. He loves to spend time tending his plants and is looking forward to expanding the garden in the future.
